DLCM Training and Consulting Expertise
Because the management of research data involves many questions such as data organisation, file formats, metadata, as well as legal and regulatory aspects, one of the important outcomes of this project is to propose consulting services in these specific areas. Professional experts and data specialists from DLCM partner institutions are available to answer your questions and help you manage your research data through consulting services tailored to your needs. We are also happy to provide a personalized training offer for your specific needs!

Coordination Desk
DLCM’s central contact point is its Coordination Desk. Through the address , any swiss researcher, research institution or HEI can freely ask for general or specific information on research data management, and it is also possible to request the organisation of trainings on different RDM subjects.
Depending on the nature of your demand, DLCM’s Coordination Desk will contact or link you to the most appropriate RDM expert, through a network of 8 HEI from all over the Switzerland. Requests may be addressed in english, french or german and get the answer in the respective languages, and you will receive an answer within the 3 following days.
Training Opportunities
First half day will be first dedicated to a theoretical approach of Research Data Long Term Preservation (RDLTP) through perspectives significance for Data Governance and Data Quality Assessment, for Open Science requirements and for the entire Research Data Life Cycle. The lesson will then focus on Research Data backup and archiving processes with an overview of LOCKSS (Lots of Copies Keep Stuff Safe) and other preservation architectures. Second half of the day will be devoted to an interactive lesson on the OAIS (Open Archival Information System) standard, with general discussion, and finally include a demonstration of the Swiss national Research Data repository OLOS.
