This workshop addresses general aspects of research data and related methodological considerations. In unit 1 and 2, we will explore respectively the following aspects:
The Research Data Life Cycle: how to identify and to take up the different phases of the research data life cycle. Stemming from different approaches and research paradigms (qualitative, quantitative or mixt), this part will discuss the nature of research data and related major issues.
Qualitative and Quantitative Scientific Research Methodology: the planning, the collection, the analysis, and the compilation of data will be explored as well as its visualisation, sharing and publication. At each step, various instruments to support research data processing will be proposed.
Those units will offer basic knowledge to researchers in order to set up a framework for their proper data management tools such as the Data Management Plan.
These two units will alternate conceptual blocks and examples in the morning with a hands on session in the afternoon. Groups will be organised either around the participant research interests or around their own interest regarding use cases and specific issues on research data.
